Lets start with something you may not have experienced for a while. A Smile! When you feel great, 17 muscles click into place, and bang you have a smile. That's because in response to emotional states, muscles move into very distinct patterns called ‘Engrams’.

A frown takes a few more muscles to form, then there’s fear, anger, grief, and frustration, all of which have their own muscle patterns, all of which pressurise your internal organs and can make you, quite sick!

These patterns lock into place when that emotion kicks in, and that can be time after time, after time. Many of these patterns contribute directly to your anxiety state so let’s start by treating the most obvious ones. First a short explanation on specific muscle tension and the side effects it can cause.

You use the Masseter muscles in the jaw when you smile and they are one of the strongest muscles of the body. Think of the pressure it takes to bite through the skin of a crisp apple or to grind up a chunk of steak, they have some serious power. If you’ve ever smiled until your face hurt, or spent a day smiling at difficult people and ended up with the hell headache? Well, you smiled till the face muscles were sore, and your aching jaw and head are suffering from the face muscles being in Occupational Overuse Syndrome/OOS.

If you get anxiety, the muscles that react to that emotional state are at the top of your tummy, just under the ribs. Try gently probing up under the ribs there and if it hurts like hell, well, it shouldn’t! So lets fix that first!

So we developed TBT for me, and now for you too!

We tried lots of other options, looking for the ‘Goldilocks’ answer. We wanted them to be soft enough to not do damage, and hard enough to get into those hard to release old injuries. After months of trying things like those big expensive rollers you see in gyms, golf balls, even cricket balls, and eventually found that High Pressure Competition Grade tennis balls when used the right way are 'just right' to get in and loosen up those tight muscles, without doing damage to the surrounding tissue and nerves.
