Tennis Ball Technique

Feeling trapped. TBT for releasing tight Traps.

This tennis ball therapy exercise won’t work on that annoying person in your life, but it will help you avoid or relieve a real, physical pain in the neck, sore Traps.

In this area of the body the muscles are a bit like the springs in the corner of a trampoline - there are lots of them, and when you use them they pull in many different directions at once.

The trapezius is one of the two prime movers of shoulder elevation. In other words these muscles, commonly known as traps, literally lift your shoulders up and carry the weight. The traps begin at the back part of the skull and are attached to the vertebrae all the way down the neck and the thoracic (upper back) vertebrae. If the traps are tight they put pressure on the spine and neck from the head right down to the mid back. And when that strain is un- even, all I can say is "ouch!"

These imbalances may be the result of prolonged repetitive movements, such as carrying a child on one hip or lugging a laptop, heavy handbag or briefcase around. As a result you may develop a really strong set of muscles up one side of your body, which can cause your neck and back to be pulled out and may have a huge array of unpleasant, long-term side-effects.

Tennis Ball Technique

A simple way to get, or keep, your body On the Ball.

You may have heard an old quote "when you need a cop they are never around!" ... well we found the same thing applied to getting good remedial therapy for sore muscles "when you need a massage therapist, they are always all booked up!"

After months of trying things like those big expensive rollers you see in gyms, golf balls, even cricket balls, and eventually found that High Pressure Competition Grade tennis balls when used the right way are 'just right' to get in and loosen up those tight muscles, without doing damage to the surrounding tissue and nerves.
